Sway: The Irresistible Pull of Irrational Behavior is a fascinating book. I’ll bet the title alone will hit a lot of people personally as it did me. The other thing that hit me as I read Sway is the notion that I am not alone in my sometimes irrational thinking! I mean, what a relief to discover that!

Book Review – Words That Work: It’s Not What You Say, It’s What People Hear

Words That Work: It’s Not What You Say, It’s What People Hear is one of the most thought-provoking books I’ve read in a long time. Its simple yet powerful idea that “it’s not what you say, it’s what people hear” can help us to communicate more efficiently and effectively, changing the results we get when we talk or write, whether we’re talking to our kids or our employees, writing dissertations or emails, or addressing a family meeting or a board of directors.

Book Review: Good to Great – Why Some Companies Make the Leap and Others Don’t
October 7th, 2008 · No Comments · Book Review, Work Life
“Good is the enemy of great.” That is a powerful theory put forth by the author, Jim Collins, in Good to Great: Why Some Companies Make the Leap… and Others Don’t. A simple idea, it’s easy to dismiss. But clearly companies that don’t heed the warning, don’t last very long.
